AMERICAN HAIRLESS DOG BREED The American hairless dog breed originated from Louisiana in United States. The breed was born from a hairless puppy born into the rat terriers. The rat terriers was given to a couple of Willie and Edwin Scott when it weaned. The couple named it Josephine . Josephine gave birth to two female hairless puppies at different birthdates, it was not until she was nine years old that she gave birth to a male terrier and a hairless puppy . The dog was later mated with his hairless sisters that gave birth to a new race that came to be known as the American hairless breed of dog. The American hairless dog breed was later recognized as a breed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 2016.
